Redding Fund Grant -- GAHS Students

***** The Next Redding Fund Grant Window Will Open in February 2027 *****

The Larry R. and Janet M. Redding Designated Endowment Fund (Redding Fund) provides financial support through grants to assist Gettysburg Area High School (GAHS) students with limited personal finances participate in career and technical education (CTE) programs and associated student organizations at GAHS and the Adams County Technical Institute (ACTI).

The Redding Fund was established in 2017 when Gettysburg Area School District (GASD) superintendent Dr. Larry Redding retired from daily education leadership.  Dr. and Mrs. Redding recognize the significance that CTE organizations play in strengthening students' technical knowledge while enhancing their leadership, communication, performance, and interpersonal skills. Numerous opportunities are available for students to test and evaluate their abilities by attending regional, state, and national competitions and conferences. Dr. Redding, a 1973 GAHS graduate, credits the influence of his high school teachers, especially his vocational agriculture teachers, with his career choice.

Redding Fund grants can be used to help cover registration and entry fees as well as travel, hotel, and meal costs for attending regional, state, and national competitions and conferences. Grants can also be applied to the cost of dues for career and technical education organizations including but not limited to Technology Student Association (TSA), SkillsUSA, and Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA).

The Redding Fund Grant application is designed to be completed by the student with the guidance of a faculty sponsor. Grant awards will be distributed directly to the school via check.  The faculty sponsor is responsible for managing the funds for the student.  Students will not receive cash.  Grant awards may be less than the amount requested.

The Larry R. and Janet M. Redding Designated Endowment Fund is held and managed by the Adams County Community Foundation (ACCF).  If you would like to help grow the fund please contact ACCF via EMail info@adamscountycf.org or via telephone at 717-337-0060
