GAHS Holiday Market Clothing Drive Nets About 60 Bags

GAEF had a GREAT day at the GAHS Holiday Market on Saturday, December 13th.  It's always nice to get out into the community to share the stories about the students and classrooms of Gettysburg Area School District (GASD).

This year, we featured online fundraisers for the GAHS JROTC Wall of Service project and the Warrior Helping Hands initiative coordinated by Jennifer Weigle, GASD Social Worker.  Both fundraisers received donations during the event.

We also coordinated a clothing drive to benefit CommunityAid.  Thanks to the generosity of the community, we collected about 60 bags of clothing, shoes, and other 'soft goods.'

2025 Apple Harvest Fundraiser a Success -- Thank You Volunteers!

GAEF continued its annual tradition of providing volunteers to help with the pit beef sandwich sale during each Saturday of the 2025 National Apple Harvest Festival (NAHF).  31 Gettysburg Area High School (GAHS) students and two adults volunteers provided 193 volunteer hours.  The volunteers represented the GAHS Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA), National Honor Society (NHS), Key Club, and Gettysburg Area School District (GASD) Nursing.  GAEF presented each group with a Volunteer Bucks Grant in recognition of their members' efforts.

2026 GAEF Evening at the Totem Pole Playhouse Musical Selected

GAEF is proud to announce that the eighth annual GAEF Evening at the Totem Pole Playhouse musical will be Tony Award winning Come From Away on July 1, 2026 at 7:30 PM.  Tickets will be $60.00 and include a pre-show reception starting at 6:00 PM.

Come From Away is a heartwarming and inspiring musical based on the true story of what happened in the small town of Gander, Newfoundland, when 38 planes were unexpectedly diverted there on September 11, 2001. As thousands of stranded passengers from around the world arrived, the townspeople opened their homes and hearts, offering food, shelter, and kindness in the midst of tragedy. The show celebrates human compassion, resilience, and the powerful connections that can emerge in the most unexpected circumstances.
